Anchored in Love

Gold Anchor emerged in 2013, born out of a chance encounter at a friend's jam session in Atwater Village, Los Angeles where vocalist, guitarist, and songstress Lauren Conn crossed paths with drummer and percussionist Marcos Beltran. Their musical connection was immediate, and it soon blossomed into both a band and a deep personal relationship. Together, they embarked on a journey that took them to Puerto Rico, where they lived for two years until Hurricane Maria brought them back to Los Angeles, where they’ve spent the past decade playing captivating shows and building their sound.

Their upcoming album, The Space Within, recorded in 2022 at The War on Drugs’ Los Angeles studio, promises to be their most ambitious work yet. Engineered and mixed by Austin Asvanonda, mastered by Grammy Award-winning Gavin Lurssen, and co-produced by Jeremiah Gray and Gold Anchor, this new collection of songs captures the heart and soul of their decade-long journey, offering fans a deeply resonant musical experience. Stay tuned for its highly anticipated release.

Blending indie rock with Americana charm and singer-songwriter soul, Gold Anchor crafts songs that delve into themes of love, longing, joy, and life’s introspective moments. Their music is richly layered, featuring the melodic artistry of longtime friend and collaborator Pelle Hillström (Teleskopes), the evocative violin work of film composer, songwriter, and collaborator Melisa McGregor and the recent addition of bassist Michael Williams (1919 and Speed Luxury) whose dynamic playing adds depth and groove to the band's evolving sound.

Gold Anchor debuted with their single Flower Child in 2014, a track produced by Paul Gagliardi and polished to perfection by Hein Hoven. In 2020, they unveiled their EP Somewhere to Land, recorded in Los Angeles at EMP Studios. This project was shaped under the skilled hands of engineer and co-producer Lynne Earls, Vice President of the Recording Academy’s LA Chapter, and mastered by Darren Boling.

Their recent release, Fountains of Love (2024), is the first single from their upcoming album, The Space Within. Their newest single, Colors, will be released on December 12, 2024.
