Anchored in Love

Gold Anchor was formed in 2013 by vocalist, guitarist, and songstress Lauren Conn, and drummer and percussionist Marcos Beltran. They met as musicians jamming at a friend's party and soon realized they had a deeper connection. They formed a band and became a couple. They lived in Puerto Rico for two years and in Los Angeles, where they played shows for the past decade.

They are an indie rock band with Americana flare and singer-songwriter vibes. Their songs tell stories about love, longing, joy, and deep contemplation. They both find meaning in reflecting on the journey of life. You can hear tapestries of melodic landscapes played by longtime friend and collaborator Pelle Hillström (Teleskopes). They also are joined by friend and collaborator, film composer, songwriter, and violinist Melisa McGregor.

Their first single, Flower Child was released in 2014. Flower Child was engineered and produced by Paul Gagliardi, and mixed and mastered by Hein Hoven. They released their EP Somewhere to Land in 2020. Somewhere to Land was recorded in Los Angeles at EMP Studios. It was engineered, mixed, and co-produced by Lynne Earls, LA's Chapter Vice President of the Recording Academy. It was mastered by Darren Boling. Their newest album was recorded in Los Angeles at the War on Drugs studio in 2022. It was engineered and mixed by Austin Asvanonda, and produced by Jeremiah Grey and Gold Anchor. This album is set to release in 2024.
